Astoria Pinball League Results 06/10/25

The league started the night mourning the loss of Trident, which was pulled off the floor. As the only early solid-state pinball machine on location in the Astoria area and a fan favorite, the air was thick with disappointment. While we all know pins must come and go, most of us were shocked at how quickly this one departed us.

Thankfully, the melancholy vibes transformed into cheers of excitement when the crown started dropping quarters into the new King Kong: Myth of Terror Island machine. I was worried about how the league would receive the new Keith Elwin design because it lacks the beginner-friendly nature of Godzilla and Jaws. However, players marveled at the animations and couldn’t get enough building climbing action, making this the league’s most well-received new-in-box game. We would like to extend a thank you to Merry Time Bar and Todd for getting the new pin.

To celebrate the new arrival, the night became an unofficial King Kong launch party. The only problem with this idea was most of the league wanted to play it more than just one time. When the night came to a close, we had a tie between Tracie and Ian. It should come as no surprise, they decided King Kong would be the tiebreaker. In the end, Ian was crowned the champion, with Tracie taking second, and Griffin in third. Thanks to Next Level Pinball Museum these three were able to take home some sweet prizes.
